Designed as a multi-function venue, East Coker Hall was built in the late 1970’s on land donated by the Drake family and was opened in 1981. It is on the fringe of North Coker, in East Coker parish, and overlooks the surrounding countryside.
The Hall is well maintained and hosts numerous village events and private functions, including wedding receptions.

The size of the hall is 54′ x 32′ (16.46m x 9.75m). It has a wood block floor and com- prises a stage (with curtain), bar area, and a servery from the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, double sinks, microwave cooker, cater-ing sized oven, hob, warming cabinet and catering dishwasher.

Had these guys for my wedding on Saturday and they were incredible. They had so many people dancing the night away and having a great time. They are super lovely and friendly! They gave us the opportunity of hiring their Photo Booth last minute which was such a big hit with the guests. They even surprised us with some singing from Marcus which was a nice touch! Hire these guys for your event they were amazing!!!

We used MJS for our wedding in November 2024 and they were absolutely amazing. From the get go Marcus was incredibly friendly and helpful, the website is easy to use and the whole team just brought such good vibes during the evening - we couldn’t be happier with our choice! We also used their audio guestbook which was such a fun little touch, all our guests loved it and we got the recordings back the very next day. We booked Marcus as DJ for our wedding evening do and we were very impressed. It was easy to book and the portal is easy to use. Guests are able to leave requests which is good. Marcus had all of our guests up dancing and he played the music we asked for. We also had Dancing on the Clouds for our first dance which was great. MJS did an amazing job at my daughter’s 4th birthday. Marcus was so helpful to the lead up made sure I chose the right package and asked if we wanted to put a play list together for the big day . . He was on time full of energy and enthusiasm. He had a wonderful assistant who engaged with all the children and got all the children involved with lots of party games and dancing. There was an extra special touch to the disco that my daughters name was on the screens either side of the booth that had different dinosaurs in saying happy birthday to go with our dinosaur themed party/ we will definitely be hosting MJS entertainment again for all our future events. Wonderful company! Came to my aid when I couldn’t even get a reply in regards to booking a bouncy castle for my child’s birthday party. They squeezed me in and gave me a great price. The bouncy castle was clean, lots of fun and the disco lights/speakers made the party games soooo much more fun!
